We all have the ability to shape the end of the story.

 I don't believe the excuses it's too late, I'm too old, I don't have the time, I can't do it…

We all have the same hours in the day, days in the week, weeks in the month.

STOP putting barriers in your way.

Let me give you a short insight into my story and where it all began....

I don’t come from a family of business owners, I never set up a tuck shop in school or sold toys from my front garden… we’ve all heard these stories. I did my degree on Sport with no real idea where I was going. I ended up working for Whitbread in the pub trade after university but had no clear structure.

I then joined the police and started on a defined career path, but I still wasn’t satisfied I always felt I owed something else to myself. 4 years later, whilst on a trip to Australia I realised it was time to retrain so I spent 2 years learning all the basics of financial advice then on the anniversary of my 6 years joining the police I took the leap of faith in self-employed world… just as a credit crunch was hitting in 2008.

Great timing you may say but my head said if I can do it now, I can do it at anytime.... Fast forward 14 years and here we are.

 I guess you could say my journey looked a little bit like this : 

I pride myself on hard work and pure grit.

I’ve been knocked down more times than I wish to imagine and in the early days I even felt like taking up the 2 year return window to the police. I am glad I never did.

I still get to shape my own end

I am still not the finished article and I know I never will be.

I tweak my own plan regularly, but the key is I do have a plan

It’s been a fun ride so far and in all honesty, I am only just getting started.

The moral of the story is you are the only barrier to changing your life and the way the story ends.
